Lubega Mukasa (Samuel Fleming) founded Lubega Legacy to help athletes take ownership of the person they are becoming, not merely the next game they play.

The story behind the work

Raised in a military family, Lubega grew up with discipline, preparation, and service as everyday expectations. Baseball gave those ideas a field to play on. The work that became Lubega Legacy began with college baseball players at a small HBCU in Alabama while COVID-19, the transfer portal, social media, and NIL were changing the questions athletes had to answer.

Young players needed more than another instruction about mechanics. They needed a way to protect attention, receive feedback, communicate with coaches, understand recruiting, build a responsible public presence, and make decisions that would still matter after the last game. The project grew into workshops, showcase education, individual development, and team culture experiences. Read the organization’s origin story for the broader history.
