Where It Started

Lubega Legacy was born out of a changing game and a changing world. Raised in a military family, Lubega Mukasa-Magoye grew up around discipline, preparation, service, and the belief that opportunity means nothing without responsibility. During the COVID-19 era, as the transfer portal and NIL began reshaping college athletics, he saw young players being asked to navigate far more than the game itself: recruiting, identity, branding, technology, attention, relationships, and life beyond sports. What began as a project with college baseball players at a small HBCU in Alabama grew into live workshops, showcase education, individual development, and culture-building experiences inside competitive travel teams. It eventually became a learning community used by high school, college, and professional players in the game of baseball.

What We Are Building

Today, Lubega Legacy is powered by coaches, former college and professional players, programmers, scouts, and development professionals, with experience informed by MLB-level scouting and coaching development. We believe the 21st-century athlete needs 21st-century coaching. In a world shaped by social media, constant comparison, recruiting exposure, NIL, and technology competing for an athlete’s attention, developing mechanics alone is no longer enough. We develop the mind behind the movement, teaching players to think deeply, train with intention, understand how they are evaluated, build meaningful relationships, navigate opportunity, and create something that lasts beyond the final game. Because the question is no longer only, “Can you play?” It is also, “Can you think, adapt, communicate, and build?”
